Prologue

It was the night of the new moon. Nobody was on the streets anymore, but then it was way to cold for something like that. Nobody, but two man of totally different age. Those man stood talking in the complete dark, somewhere on the playground in a remote park. They didn't appear like the cold and the dark was bothering them, because non of them was wearing much clothing  and they were standing in a rather dark corner, out of the light. The older man, who appeared to be in his fifties was showing a newspaper article to the younger boy.

The younger man, who was about twenty years old, took the newspaper from the elder man and started reading. When he was finished reading the article he let out a worried sigh, after which he gave the article back.

The older man folded the newspaper which he had shown to his younger companion and looked the boy deed in the eyes with a worried and strict look.

"Just wait a little bit more and they will kill someone. You have to keep them better in control." The elder man sigh. The younger one looked at his older companion with a frustrated look. It was clear that he had already tried everything he could and was now at the end of his rope.

"And what do you want me to do about it?" The boy snarled at the elder man, while swinging his arms around. "You know that I'm working about day and night just to keep control over them." He added a bit more mild, but also a bit more desperate.

"You have to find your companion, your soul mate." The elder man told the younger one with a serious and well meant tone. "Then they will calm down. It also isn't easy for them without proper leadership and that you now very well as well."  The last sentence had sounded really sour, like the two man had more history together then they were showing right now.

The younger man now started to get a bit irritated. "And how to you want me to do that? I'm already searching day and night. I... I...."

The elder man had the laugh really hard about that. "I though you where already busy day and night to keep those trouble makers of you under control."

"You know very well what I meant with that!" The younger one snarled towards the elder man. "It isn't easy to find her. And of all people you should know. You never found her!" The younger man was almost screaming right now.

The elder man tried to calm down the younger man, but it didn't really worked very well. "And look at what it did to me! But at least they still had some respect for me. You are still to young, you can't do this alone."

"It has nothing to do with my age!" Spoke the boy sharply. "And it was not like you were such a good leader!"

That last sentences much have really hurt the elder man because he went to white hot. "And what do you know about it!" Growled the man.

"In any case more then you!" The other one growled back, with his hairs straight up. For a little while the two were circling each other, like two gladiators trying to judge the others strength.  Then the older man lashed out, his mouth wide open and going for the neck of the other person.

The youngster was much faster then the older one and dodged the attack with ease. Quickly he jumped to the right after which he went swiftly in the offensive. A moment later his tooth were hanging in the neck skin of his opponent, who ended on this back and gave up.

Slowly and with much growling the youngster let go of the elder man. "Sorry." The youngster said to the elder man who was kneeling in frond of the feet. The boy stuck out his and to help his companion to stand up again. "I should not have said that. You were a good leader August."

The elder man took the hand of the youngster and accepted the apologies. "It's alright. I know how hard it is. But that is not on excuse not the find her." August took a moment to beat the dirt of his clothes and to give some attention to some little bleeding wounds in his neck. Then he continued on talking. "Take a little distance from everything. Then I will look after things for a while. You are still to young and should not have to bare this responsibility. Take your time and go and find her."

The younger man nodded his had. He would do that.

"Promised?" The elder man asked.

"Promised." The youngster promised him.

"That's all I ask." The elder man said and closed the subject.

From somewhere in his coat the youngster revealed a little box with some patches. "Patch?" He asked, pointing to the little bleeding howls in the neck of the other person.

The other person took them grateful "Yes please."

The younger man smile a little smile to the elder one, after which they both went there own way. The night was still young, so there was still much to do.
A story I wrote for a contest some time ago. ( I didn't won:P) I though it might be fun to translate it to English and upload it here. And who knows, maybe I will find some motivation on the way to edit the thing ^^

Hope any who read it enjoy it. Please let me know if you did so or not ^^.
